Interestesting I guess but the 20 or so photos there were well worth the stop here. The lights themselves are-well-just lights.

A beautiful park in the center of the city. Many violent, terrible things happened in this park during the dark, drug infested days. City leaders knew that by shining light on dark places, you begin to bring out the best. Now this is an area that is treasured with lots of families enjoying the area, riding bikes, having an ice... I wish we had seen this at night but it is still a neat place to visit as its historical background is interesting. It was once a place of corruption and crime and the city of Medellin rebuilt this park to represent light/hope for the future... the bamboo trees set a nice complimentary touch to the area as well

We starting watching the Netflix TV series Narcos, based on the rise and influence of drug traffickers in the late 20th century with a focus on Medellín’s own Pablo E. (the infamous criminal). Being amongst the now very modern city it was insane to think within our lifetime of the chaos that once consumed Medellín. The story of this park... More

The square of crime is transformed into the square of hope. With tall poles with lights on them. This place looks really good at night when light up.

It has long torches or lights , located between two busy streets. It also has some bamboo trees that provide some ambience to the park This area used to be haven for drug dealers, now is for public use and for tourists to visit. Tip: Visit the library located near this attraction. Entrance is free. It has a small museum... More

It is a beautiful park with thin long concrete columns of light. I went there during the day and I think it still looked beautiful. I would suggest not to go there at night because it isn't in the safest area of the city but if you are willing to take a chance, I'm sure that it is beautiful at... More

The idea behind many of Medellin's public spaces is to recover and rehabilitate dangerous areas. This was a success. Now a plaza with the theme of recovering the area from darkness, this square is very symbolic and you can take excellent photos as well.
