The Metro in Medellin is all above ground, so it offers a different view of the city. And the Metrocable is part of the system, so one ticket allows you to travel all over the city, including the barrios on the hillsides overlooking the city. We spent hours doing this on a drizzly day that was not good for walking,... More

Took the metro cable up the mountain to the Santo Domingo station. Since is was very foggy and starting to rain did not take the connection to Parque Arvi. It is part of the Metr system and such an easy connection from the train to cable car at the Acevedo station. What makes it unique is that it mainly serves... More

We took the Medellin metro up to the highest point and saw spectacular views of the city. The cost of the metro is pretty cheap and the view is excellent. A pretty quick and inexpensive way to spend some of your time in Medellin. Don't leave the city without a ride.

Had whole day fun traveling in metro to Arvi. Love the scenic View from the cable metro, not expensive at all, big fast moving lanes of all kind of International tourists.

Coming from London, it was a pleasure to travel on a metro where fellow travellers are polite - they offer you a seat without any prompting and where the carriages and stations are all very clean and litter free. It's busy but the locals take pride in the metro and respect it. Cheap and safe way to get across the... More

We took the metrocable up to Parque Arvi. Right when we got there it started to pour, so we ducked into a bar a little down the road and hung out until right before the metrocable shut down for the night. It was really awesome riding it and would definitely ride again to check out the rest of the park... More

Take the metro and transfer to the Metro Cable and take it all the way up to Parque Arvi. 2,500 pesos per person (each way), but you certainly do get the best views of the city.

When visiting Medellin with my family, the metro cable was one of the attractions that was recommended to us by friends. We had one afternoon free and decided to take the metro cable to enjoy some of the views of Medellin and the mountains. There are two metro cables in the city. Because it was later in the afternoon and... More

One of the best things that Medellin did for its residents. The cable system ties all levels of the community together and allows easy access to important parts of the city at an affordable rate-not to mention the beautiful views.

This cable car ride was great. We got a wonderful overview of Medellin and the surrounding mountains but maybe even better you go right over Santa Domingo, which is a neighborhood carved into a mountain. It's one home connected to/on top of another. Roofs held down by rocks. There are no roads. Just steps here and there to get around.
