I visited Plaza Bortero on the Saturday before Easter and while the sculptures were really cool, the plaza was a bit crowded. I’d recommend reading a bit about Bortero before visiting because there isn’t much information in the plaza.

It’s very simple, a lot of Botero’s pieces but there’s a lot of vendors and people asking for money, the plaza is clean and secure

Great place to hang out and take a ton of pics. You get to walk through this place with the real city tour guide.

Botero is certainly a Medellin icon. His statues are like no others. Cool to see, take photos and meander

Botero is so distinctive and the range of subjects and forms in the Plaza is wonderful to see and very impressive. Do not miss.

This plaza in the heart of Medellín is home to many large statutes by native son Botero, arguably the country's most famous artist. They are all around the plaza and go partly down the pedestrianised shopping street that goes to the plaza. Even if you...More

Easily accessible by Metro (two blocks away), the sculptures are incredible. I didn't know about Botera prior to this and his style is so distinctive and approachable. Most sculptures are exaggerated people or animals. The area around the park is a bit rough, especially if...More

We didn't take a tour, we simply took the metro which has a stop right beside the Plaza and walked around ourselves. I love Botero's art so being able to see 20+ of his sculptures was truly wonderful for me. There are lots of places...More
