I've been to Medellín many times, but I had never visited the Jardín Botánico. I'm so glad that I took my friend there. We were staying in Envigado. So it was a long taxi ride to the north side of Medellín, but it was worth it. The Orquideorama was simply spectacular. The Cactus Garden impressed me. The butterfly house was... More

There were still quite some renovations, but a really nice park to visit (for 1€!!) really cool and relaxed vibe. And also a lot of herbs and vegetables I would expect to grow in Colombia

A quiet and nice place with an excellent restaurant. Not that many plants to observe but anyhow it deserves a visit

A relaxing stroll through the botanical gardens is a chance to get away from the traffic. There's a great variety of plants, butterfly hot house, rainforest & orchid walks. Gardeners are welcoming & the park has a nice architectural feel. The area surrounding the park is also interesting.

We were there around noon on a Monday, and it wasn't too busy. The park is well laid-out with good maps, and some of the information is in English too. They have different types of gardens, like one for orchids, another for azaleas, medicinal plants, tropical plants, etc. There is also a little laguna with ducks and turtles. The butterfly... More

We took the metro to Universidad Station, descended the exit steps, and walked east 140m to the garden's circular concrete wall entrance(no entry fee). After using the restrooms at the entry Cafe del Bosque, we strolled the circular walkway to the left. 1st stop is the 65' "Orchideorama" with a canopy held up with 10 hexagonal trees. Under several were... More

it is a nice park to wander and take a stroll. but not a very big assortment of flowers and plants in my mind. easy to get to with the metro. if you are here for a long time then go but if just a few days give it a pass.

Its a nice place to have a little walk outside, but I wouldnt say its a must-do in medellin. If you want to walk, rather check out the city itself. :)

The day we went it started to drizzle so we only stayed for about 45 minutes. We didn't see the entire garden but the areas we did see were average at best. We saw the same flora driving around and the examples they had in the garden were in so so condition. There were some interesting looking ducks near the... More
