Worth a trip, but not a patch on West Lake in Hangzhou, though it's supposed to be one of the three famous lakes of China. Not a particularly difficult or long walk.

While this is a smaller lake it makes up for it's unique shape and the beauty as seen from either on the hill side above it or walking along the water. overall the entire circle walk can be done in around 2hours which includes stopping for pictures and resting. great view of shaoxing city from the top of the hill... Dong Hu was formed after a quarry was filled in with water. The lake itself is quite small compared with other lakes in China. The amazing features are the remaining rock cliffs that are multiple shades of rusts, greens, and browns. Guests can walk through the middle of the lake from one end to another on a man-made walkway lined... More

East Lake rocks! The east lake has lots of fresh air and you must go on the boat ride (¥250-270). From Shanghai or Beijing? Well... This must be your favourite attraction!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

East Lake of Shaoxing is very different from the numerous other lakes and ponds we have seen in China due to its unusual history. This is a lake garden which was created when an abandoned quarry slowly filled up with rainwater. It has gradually been transformed into a unique cultural landscape, with little pavilions with poetic names such as "Chilly... More

As the title says, this is one of the highlight of Shaoxing. Easily accessible by bus or taxi from Shaoxing town, this is one of the place that tourist should visit while in Shaoxing. A bus ride cost only RMB1 (Bus no. 1) and takes about 10 minutes journey from town center while a taxi ride should not cost more... More

If you really want a wonderful lake experience, I would recommend East Lake in Hangzhou. This is a large lake that has had its fill of pollution problems. You can take a boat out to visit various islands and some tourist areas, which are okay, but not spectacular. However, it is one of the major tourist attractions in the area... More

A pleasant way to see the East Lake is to take a boat ride on the scenic lake. The boat seats two people and is rowed by the boatman using his feet. Since a picture tells a thousand words, I shall leave it to you to watch my video of the East Lake which was shot in 1080p Full HD... More

Only minutes from the city lies this beautifully scenic area. Tour the cathedral-like cliffs by Shaoxing's unique black boats. It was created centuries ago as a quarry that built much of the famous old bridges in the region. Easy to get to and leave - by taxi.
