Coming from Seattle, and having visited many aquariums, we were a little disappointed. Not a lot of live tanks, and many paper mache displays make up most of your experience. To it's credit, however, there was great information in multiple languages on what you were...More

A nice place to visit if in Qingdao, good collection and good nearby view, it's worth visiting if you are staying in Qingdao for long.

We went there with 2 toddlers in the strollers, first there’s subway a bit far away from it, then when you get there and get the tickets, you are getting in. There’s no easy access for strollers, many stairs inside the place, we had to...More

Worthwhile, especially if your kids are Octonaut fans. All sorts of specimen jars as you go in, then some dodgy taxidermy and a huge model sperm whale and then diwn into the underwater world bit with big rays and a conveyor belt walkway. We went...More

While not spectacular by western standards (Ripley aquarium in Toronto, planetarium in Montreal, for example), it was still worth spending a couple hours here. The layout of the place is curious - starting with scientific specimens in jars - and eventually you work your way...More

The Dolphin show is the best. Large overhead aquarium with variety of fish. Plan a half day to explore.

Was better than I assumed it would be, but in China sights with live animals tend to be a saddening experience. The aquarium is overpriced but again in China most sights are. The museum portion starts well with decent displays but soon turns into horribly...More

We read the reviews and decided to go anyway and were positively surprised by what we saw. The only bad bit was the mammal area which was very smelly and a little dirty. The rest of the exhibits were well maintained and clean and my...More
