Quite surprised
Apr 2017
I was quite surprised how well the zoo has developed over the last 10 years. It's a huge step forward to what I saw 2003. The animals most have very good conditions. The cages are as big as you find in european zoos. Also the infrastructure of the zoo is much better. You easily find trash bins, toilets or food station. What I don't liked was the long way out of Shenyang to this place. Nevertheless I found out that on this road are many other attractions.

It is waste of time and money
Aug 2015 • Friends
you can not find anybody who speaks English, you pay 15$ entrance fee and then you found out that this for only little part of part, if you want to see more you should pay extra 5 $ and the bus will take you somewhere.
you can not understand what they are talking about even if you wait for hours for English speaking manager, The park is not clean and the animals are in terrible condition, in very small cages, so just skip the zoo, and go and look around. you will enjoy more

Most horrible zoo ever!
May 2013 • Couples
Unless you like to see sorrow, abused, tortured and unhealthy animals, STAY AWAY of this place!!
All animals, without exception, are in way way too small cages (top of the bill was the vulture that was in a cylinder shaped cage with a diameter of about 5m, and a height of no more than 3m.) The subsurface of every cage only exist out of concrete, no surprise that all animals look very insalubrious.
There is nothing taken care of on the whole domain. Everywhere they are building or braking down buildings (the difference is hard to see.) No flowerbeds, everywhere only weeds.
The bus, that takes you around to look at some tigers, bears and zebras, only leaves when it is filled until the last seat, no matter how long it takes (we were sitting in the bus for more then 45 min before it left because it probably was not a busy day)
The only feeling I had when I left the park was that I sincerely hope I will never ever see such a horrible place again.
Please do not visit this place, and let's hope they ASAP have to close it.

Please do NOT visit this place!
They keep animals in atrocious conditions, and have killed off rare siberian tigers. They boast that zebra are kept "only 5 metres" away from lions - how can they even think of doing this??
Do not support the place by visiting - they should be shut down and the animals returned to the wild!!! Grrrr!

STAY AWAY! SFWAZ Guilty of Animal Abuse!
On 3/12/2010 it was reported worldwide that 11 Siberian Tigers were starved to death by zoo officials. The Tigers had been kept in steel cages and had only been given chicken bones to eat. The zoo complained of hard economic times. But, instead of giving these beautiful creatures to another zoo, they allowed them to die a slow, agonizing death. I understand an investigation will be held to determine who will be held responsible.
STAY AWAY!!!
