The seaside Xinghai Square is a nice part of Dalian, a breakaway from the somewhat boring city. At dusk it is really beautiful with distant views of the bridge. There are many seagulls flying around even in cold winter (it was around 2 degrees C at my visit). Nice architecture in the square: an enormous concrete structure resembling a book.... More

We were lucky to visit Xinghai Square in winter, but still have an 8 degree Celsius and relatively (for Northern China) sunny day. We had our driver drop us at the end of the elongated closest to the water. This is where the action is. You face the wonderful bridge that runs along the cost the ocean. Turn your back... More

Except for its huge size, this square isn't worth a visit. There's nothing interesting to see. Currently the central area, where the music fountains are, is closed for renovation.

Nice place for a walk after your business meetings. Be prepared for the cold if youre there in winter. Nice cafes abound and its a nice spot for the obligatory tourist photo.

Huge square itself have nothing in the middle and a rounded by hotel, conventions center, shops, restaurants, amusement park and high class restaurants residences. Most tourists go to seaside to annoy the view and taking photos. Very nice walking around if the weather is mild and not windy.

Start there and walk along the waterside. There is a coffee place and a restaurant near the edge of the square, alongside with the shell museum.bronze statues all around the place, it can get windy but still fun.

I love this Place. The view is perfect. The whole place is so clean. The air feels also very clean and fresh. Give us the opportunity to relax after a hard week full of working. We love it to take a long walk on the beach and just enjoy being here.

This is a very large square. Nice by the water, but like anywhere in China, it's crowded with people! It's probably one of the places you should visit if you come to Dalian.

Xinghai square is a great place to visit. Though it gets very crowded in summer. There is a fairground next to the park which has a lot of fun rides.
