Big park with a lot of green space, small water falls, ancient walls and stone caves Suitable for families with small kids Not a lot places to eat in, so if you really hungry bring food with you have some gift shops

As soon as you've paid your RMB40 to enter the park, you're greeted by another RMB6 to visit the pagoda just inside the gate. Don't bother. You can walk up some very, very tiny stairs to the 5th floor, but the view isn't very impressive...More

This makes for a stunning entrance way to the lovely Panmen Gardens, which encompass many historic features. Worth a visit.

We took a full day to walk the Panmen Gate area to the river and along the river quite a way. There are a lot of side buildings beyond the pagoda, including the General Tower with all it's gates and city walls.
