I recently went to the snow expo and it's truly amazing. The ice sculptures are well done and creative. Some are massive and just makes you wonder how it's done. Unfortunately it's been getting warmer and some snow sculptures are melting and breaking apart. I recommend coming earlier when the festival begins. Other than that, I still enjoyed it.

The snow fair together with the ice festival are major winter attractions in Harbin. I went to both (the snow fair in daytime and the ice festival at night). There are many (some huge) snow sculptures in the snow fair held at Sun Island. They are really amazing and are worth seeing. The weather was bitterly cold at -27 degrees... More

Since im a student here in China, i got 50% disc, thats cool. Just show them the red small book, and u will get disc. The place is not so big, but since it's inside the sun island, you need to take taxi or something to go to this place. Bcs its so far from the main gate. So far,... More

went at 11:00 am so saw the sun move across some of the biggest sculptures. Went on a Monday so quiet and easy to do sledging, get hot drinks, get good photo's without huge crowds. Compared the ice carvings which felt like a tacky sea-side pier event, these sculptures were impressive pieces of art (some with political comment) set out... More

Tickets were 240 yuan for an adult. We caught the bus 29 - the fabulous heated double-decker tourist bus which costs 2 yuan and always has spare seats. If you come from Harbin the bus will drop you at the top of the right street. It is however poorly signposted and a bit difficult to know where to go when... More

This exhibit is best viewed in the day as the sculptures are large and obviously white as snow! Because most of the exhibits are made from snow there will be less lighting on them compared to the ice exhibition. The location of this site is on Sun island, so transport options are limited mostly to private car or group touring... More

Even better than the Ice Park! They accept Chinese Student Cards for Concession Tickets. Must-go in Harbin, preferably from 8:30-12 because it gets too crowded in the afternoon.

Amazing snow sculpture! Loved it very much and would have enjoyed it more if my iPhone didn't shut down:- Please bring a real camera that will not shut down in cold weather. iPhone is the worst under cold temperature--it shuts down when the battery is below 60%.

We have been there during the Harbin festival, and while exploring different places, we came there at around 11am. There was an international snow festival for sculptures, we had very fruitful day there. I will recommend you to visit during the month of February when there is Harbin festival, you will witness alot of activities and sculptures which are not... More

My wife and I are in our 50's although it was minus 23 degrees we had an amazing time ! this is well worth the effort ! we stayed at Harbin Holiday Inn Central. This was a great position at the end of the main shopping mall which allows you to walk all the way down to the frozen river... More
