A glimpse of Li people culture on the island

The tour was excellent. The show was phenomenal display of cultural and history of the Hainan island people. Well worth the time.

We came across an ad for the Village in the hotel lobby and were part of a tour group. The bus picked us up at the hotel at around 9:00 and we returned at 4:00 p.m. An English speaking guide was made available for our group of four:) The exhibits of indigenous culture were informative and interesting; however, we would... You probably get more out of it if you or someone in the company speaks chinese and can talk to the staff there to learn more about history, their crafts etc. (I learnt that when they built the viillage the locals had to move away to make room, but many locals, especially the local old ladies, were offered new homes... Although this park is very touristy, I found it delightful and interesting! The Li people are very resourceful and the craft/handiwork is both amazing and beautiful. The baby pineapples should not be missed, a very refreshing delight in an overcast, yet warm day!

I actually felt there was nothing to do in Sanya City, but this was recommendable. However, please arrange a taxi, because it is sooo far away from the city center.

It was an educational trip - a shore excursion that we chose and enjoyed. Our tour guide explained in English but paled in comparison to the local village guide that spoke in Mandarin. If you can, follow the local guide. The highlight really is to see the living old grannies who weaves. My daughter couldn't resist and bought a beautiful... More

Supposed to showcase the minority tribes of hainan. Fairly decent museum and sample housing of the tribes. Music performance and the cultural shoe at extra fees. They will extol the benefits of silver and bring to their shop for sales. Same for the Chinese medicated wine.

Educational and full with history of the Li minorities. Will take approximately 3 hours. Stroller is not required as there are buggies at appointed areas bringing you around to the 3 stops.
