A nice little beach

Alright, Beihai Silver Beach is not the most awesome beach you'll ever go to. But it is a nice beach, with nice sand, and hot water! Good enough for me I'd say. The problem is that chinese people do not have this culture of sun bathing or even swimming in the sea, so people are often just standing up on... More

What to say - a beach is a beach is a beach. This one is slightly different - it stretches a looonnngggg way. We found to be quite clean, but a bit flat; hardly any slope. There are several stretches that have been commercialised, but nothing like some of the eyesores in the UK, although some of the 'hotels' and... More

A large beach where one can find less crowded spots if that is preferred or staying in the middle of the crowd if that is your preference. It's also reasonably clean, especially during peak season. But with the occasional exceptions. There are plenty of entertainment and eating options around and of the beach. Moving over to the eastern part, there... More

Hmmm Silver beach, where are all the people? We arrived mid morning and the beach was empty. Just a few people. The beach was a little dirty but we found a nice place to setup. Kids enjoyed the day in and out of the water and exploring. We ran into some foriegners and the mentioned that we should walk a... More

This is one of the few beaches that actually do not have as much litter than the rest. The beach even looks nicer than all the other beaches in China. Bei Hai silver beach once had a reputation of silver sand that shines with the sunlight. Unfortunately, since then it has not been at its former glory. If you are... More

This beach is not much of a place to get into the water and surf. There are fast boats you can ride on at the beach to sight see the ocean, and because of this, this beach is more a beach where you just sit on the sand. During the time I went, it was very chilly and cold, so... More

Silver beach is like beach in other places. Quite clean not full of plastic rubbish. We're there beginning of December. Not the best time for a beach.

We caught a No 3 bus to and from the beach. The beach was clean and not too crowded (for China standards). The water was warm and we could have hired a sunshade and chairs if we had wanted for CNY 100. The only thing I did not like was a so-called safety water scooter who kept herding swimmers back...
