Well I decided to see if I could walk and climb for about eight hours and I did.First if you plan this trip you must be in shape to walk and climb very steep grades. If you are a senior you must take caution and pace yourself. The views are great on a clear day and you you can be easily be... More

Living in HK as an expat can be boring during Chinese new year. So I decided to take a solo day trip to shenzhen. With the original plan of munching on some good food in China, I decided to do the opposite, burn the cny food cals! Not knowing too much about wutong besides from reading the directions to getting... More

I went with a friend around started climbing around 11 AM. (you should start as early as possible 11 was late). There are different type of paths on the way. It starts with paved road then stoned steps and just rocks. There are refreshments available on the way you can buy. Don't carry too much water or drinks. After finish... More

My visit to the Wutong mountain was on a rainy day somewhere in the middle of the week which means no other visitors. A rare opportunity to be one-on-one with nature in this area. The way up is pretty long, about 3 hours, closer to the top there are steps those seem to be endless. A good exercise though. The view...

The walk was challenging but the most challenging aspect was getting there. Having GPS and Google (Inc. translate and maps) blocked on our phones meant finding a travel route to Wutong Shan Village was difficult. There is no MTR station nearby so I recommend you catch the 211 bus from (near!!) Luohu MTR. To get to the bus stop you... More

On the way up Wutong Mountain, just past the dam and lake, you will find a cool respite from the scorching sun. The river is beautiful and has numerous swimming pools and waterfalls. Great scenery and the river is very refreshing. Highly recommended ! 😃

So, Wutong Mountain has some good numbers and rankings as an Shenzhen attraction. I went on July 18, a nice, a-typical day for Shenzhen because it happened to be a little cooler that day. The Good: Once you reach the top of the mountain, the views are simply beautiful. Being in the city all of the time, you don't really... More
