We stayed several days on-site at the university, and were there for a science conference that my husband was attending/speaking at. Several university grad students showed the spouses around. There is a lovely central lake on campus, where black swans abound. We enjoyed the view from the top of the administration building, where we could see all of Xiamen, the... More

Very beautiful campus, one of the prettiest in China I think. Many food opportunities. A lot of Chinese tourists though.

It is a nice stroll into the university campus; a popular site amongst locals especially during weekends. But i do find very invasive for outsiders to stroll through the campus when you have students living inside the campus

Xiamen university is worthy for the name of being the most beautiful university in China as it is really beautiful. The sun was bright and some buildings in the university... More

Xiamen University's campus is a great place to stop by and visit when you're in town. Note that it will open to the public at 5:30pm, that's when classes end. It's a diverse place with friendly and intelligent people. Beautiful architecture. I was most amazed by the stadium!! I ran a lap in the race track and it was so... More

It is strange that nowadays security in Xiamen University is not that straight, unlike maybe 10 to 15 years ago. Nowadays we can almost just pass through the security guards, without any issues. They did not even care that we are strangers and not living inside one of their campuses.

Our group had limited mandarin language abilities, but between this and a bit of English from students, we found a student cafe to hide in during the worst of the wind and rain (and it was... More
