Be prepared to jostle and smell intense aroma of the various jobs sticks being offered. The vegetarian lunch is not worth it but to the devout Buddhist, this place is a must visit. But be prepared for a throng of people.

Walked a bit through the university & stopped for coffee. Typical university feel. It was a very long line to get into the university visitors gate. You need to bring your ID/Passport to be scanned by security before entering.

I visited Xiamen University as a Guest Lecturer, in November and December 2016. XMU is everything a student and faculty member could ask for in pursuit of excellence.

Opening hours are 1pm to 3pm but only very limited numbers. Opens again in late afternoon at 5pm but expect big crowds which start to gather about 3pm to wait for the opening time of 5pm.
