We went on the Magdalena Island Penguin tour, we were not disappointed. We showed up at the office to pay and get the tickets, I recommend getting there earlier than you would think, there were a lot of people to sign in. We were promptly loaded into vans and driven to the dock then, about 15 minutes away. During the... More

I can't help but feel we were taken advantage of and practically left to our own. The bus ride to the lone unmarked pier was amateurish enough. The rickety tiny crowded boat felt unsafe though the young ( non English speaker) handled it well enough, Had the weather conditions been worse this boat ride would have been awful. Of course... We booked this tour and were in town for the day on a cruise ship. We found the tour office ok only two blocks from pier. We were loaded onto a bus and transported for 30mins to a small pier in the middle of nowhere. We were loaded onto a small speed boat the fit 20 people in average condition... More

If you're in Punta Arenas, this is a must do tour! The company offered good boats, clean and well crewed, for the 30 min +/- ride to the Isla Magdellanas. There were about 75 of us on 2 boats and we enjoyed an amazing hour walking pathways with the Magellanic Penguins. Just spectacular!

Not only is this a great tour on a fine, stable boat with Piso cocktails and the opportunity to see thousands of penguins up close, but the boat launch is very close to the airport. We had a flight out of Punta Arenas shortly after the tour. We took our suit cases on the bus to the launch area and... More

We really enjoyed the boat ride to Magdelenas Island, our visit with a whole island full of Magellan penguins (lots of fuzzy penguin chicks!), the visit to a huge sea lion colony and even some hot chocolate and cookies on the boat-- nice touch. The penguins are everywhere! Great fun to watch them waddle back and forth from the ocean... More

We contacted Solo directly and booked our ferry ride to Magdalena Island. It was a much better deal than booking with our cruise ship. Our ride was fully booked. We walked to their office from the cruise port and paid on the day. We were transported in a van to the dock, which was about 30 minutes away. We did... More

Booked this company via email well ahead of our arrival in Punta Arenas. Went into the office on the morning without any expectations knowing that this trip can get cancelled at the last minute due to the weather and because of this made sure not pay in advance. However, it seems we had strike it lucky as it was a... More

Picked up from our hotel in Punta Arenas at 0645 sharp. Travelling for around 40 minutes picking up other clients and getting to the boats. About an hours journey to the island and and then an hour walking around their island experiencing an incredibly close encounter with the penguins and their chicks. Return journey very rough so if you suffer... More

Booked this at the solo expedition office, considerably cheaper than on line, but had to wait three days for availability, that was at peak dates in December, maybe you will be luckier. We would thoroughly recommend the trip, although it at first it seemed a little disorganised, 6.30 am start leaving around 7.00am. We had calm seas and visited Isabel... More
