Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

I chose the “Siem Reap Off-Road Ride” formula because my off-road experience is almost zero... I had a blast! My guide Phaeron did not spare me. Between the sandy tracks where it rides dry, the more rocky, bumpy tracks, the paths through the forest, the piloting a few centimeters from the buffaloes, the crossing of the villages, in a breathtaking natural setting, everything comes together to make this experience an unforgettable memory. Add to that all the information given by this exceptional guide during breaks, about his country, the temples and his life, and for me you have the best way to discover the true face of Cambodia. Indeed, with the discovery of the process of making rice alcohol, it brings you closer to the inhabitant.
Phaeron, a big thank you to you, for this morning which will be an unforgettable memory... Your smile and your kindness will always be associated with the word Cambodia in my memory.

Steven and Ven our tour guides were excellent, they gave us a generous 4 hours of riding. There was a great mix of terrain to ride on and great views. Steven also taught us more about Cambodia throughout the trip and was happy to answer questions. Overall a great experience and I would highly recommend Dirtbike Expeditions.

We did a cycling tour with Sam around the area of Battambang. We saw many great places to try and eat the real local food 😊 Price 12 $ per person incl. food.

We did a half day morning tour and it was brilliant - a great way to see beyond central Battambang and understand the local trades.

I was a bit skeptics of cycling in such hot weather but actually it was much better than walking, with a refreshing breeze to keep you cool!

Our tour guide Saam (sorry if I've spelt that wrong!) was lovely and it was great to support a local entrepreneur setting up his business.

Would definitely recommend!

Bike tour was super, everywhere we visited was really informative and our guide really wanted us to learn about the culture and improve his own English at the same time !
The tour company is run by students to help fund their education and improve their English so a really worthwhile cause!!! Not to be missed! 😊

I decided to book Sam based on the fact he is a student and his apparently sweet singing voice, as well as the cultural elements.
We have three little kids and asked if he could modify the tour to a tuk tuk. He did this no questions, and when I told him we were musicians, he turned up with a guitar, and the hugest smile that lit up his whole face!
Unfortunately we had a sick child so it ended up being just myself and my 8 year old son.
Sam serenaded us as we passed by the river, singing songs about Battambang.
Each of the stops were brilliant, and he explained how things were made and how the families made a living.

We also discussed Cambodian politics and history, and he adjusted things so my son could understand.

Do not eat breakfast, you will be soooo full! We were so full that we had to miss the last rice noodle stop, couldn't eat another thing!

Sam does these tours to practice his English, and because he dreams of having a tourism venture, but when I asked him how he supports himself he admitted it was out of these tours. He also told me many people only pay him $2 or $3! I was astounded by this! Not only did I urge him to change his name to 'almost free' or 'freedom', we paid him $15 on top of the tuk tuk hire. That is still incredibly cheap, compared with similar tours in Siem reap and surrounds. He is absolutely the same quality or higher. Please pay him something he can live on!

Best of luck Sam, remember to 'cry freedom' and keep up the music!

The guide Sam is a star, only to be brighter in the future.

He is a third-year student of English Literature in a college. We found him intelligent, knowledgeable, pleasant, honest and trustworthy.

I phoned him asking if we could join the tour on the next day, and he said he would meet us at our hotel at 7:30am. We came out at the time and found Sam already waiting for us with three bicycles. Asked about how he got the bikes here, he said he rode first on two and then walked back to get the third.

The surprise we got when Sam introduced about the tour before we started off was that it was a tour about tasting local food and we already had breakfast. So, remember not to have breakfast before going on this tour. You will get plenty very tasty local food.

His English is excellent. He gave very good introductions at every stop. At the end of our tour, we had a conversation about Cambodia's recent history, and Sam gave us a quite detailed introduction.

He is also a good singer. While riding on a country road, he sang Chinese and Hindi songs for us.

The cost (including the bicycle and all the food) was very minimal.

Tiring yet amazing cycling tour with Pitou around the village areas. The entire tour cost $11 per person including hotel pick up and drop off by tuk tuk. The cycling route was well planned from paper rice to bamboo sticky rice. The scenery is beautiful along the way. We even hopped on to a bamboo boat to cross the river.

Knowing that we need to catch the 2pm bus back to Siem Reap, Pitou make sure that our timing is always on track to enable us to complete the tour in a free n easy manner. He's a young passionate boy who is willing to explain/answer to any of your questions. He speaks good English too.

We did the morning session but the weather is still very hot, ensure to apply lots of sunscreen/wear an UV protection shirt and put on a mask to avoid the dust & smell.
Highly recommend this cycling tour to those who wants an indifferent experience.
