You pass this gate, if you booked a private tour on yout way to Angkor Thom. Well known from the documentations on History Channel or BBC, it is probaly the most impressive of the four city gates - not to be mixed with the temple are Angkor Wat. Stop there for some pictures and continue unfortunately, it is under renovation... More

The south entrance to the city of Ankor Thom. The bridge that leads to the gate is lined on either side with rows of dozens faces of huge(10 feet high?) stone gods. Very impressive. The entryway itself is too narrow for tour buses so we (luckily) had to walk the length of the bridge and through the gate. This was... More

The gate are located on the eastern entrance to Angkor Tom. I don't get why tripadvisor's map shows the South Gate instead of the Victory Gate. Tripadvisor should either remove the topic name or move the mark on the map, so as not to mislead users. I passed through this gate on Dec. 5, 2016. It is better to go... More

This is a great way to leave the park, but you must not be in a large bus as the entrance is quite narrow.

Angkor Thom, the walled city, has 5 gates leading to it. This gate is the most famous as the king, Jayavarman VII would lead his army thru this gate when defending the kingdom. Apart from the gigantic 4 headed figures at the top of the pillars, the causeway above the moat has an exquisite depiction of the Hindu mythology of... More

The gate might be worth getting a quick photo in front of, because it is visually appealing. In terms of what you can do at it though, that is where it ends. It's a gate.

This is the exit, or entrance to the east side of Angkor Thom. There are large faces on each side of it. If you walk up the edge on the south side of the gate, you can take a photo right in front of one of the faces. Its a quick stop that most people don't make.

Loved this as its on the way to another amazing temple. You can stop on the side of the road and walk up to the gates and back taking photos all the way. Go here after Ankor Wat as its in the region. Please remember though not to climb on the relics as its disrespectful and annoying to watch people... More
