It was a wonderful surprise to see high quality figurines. One can make out the amount of efforts put into the faces and the paintings. The price range is high and may not fit average traveller's budget. I did not see the craftmen at work, but I read that's the best part. The items at shop don't carry artist's name... More

Great visit to the Artisans Angkor work shop in Siem Reap today. Gives you an appreciation of the skill involved in creating the pieces they do, which are beautiful! Silk items, porcelain, sculpture in both wood and stone, jewellery items and lacquer work. Excellent seeing how they make these items (guide was excellent at explaining everything) and then it was... We really enjoyed the tour of the workshops where local people are able to study some traditional crafts giving them a trade and a way of making a living. Very worth-while visit and the quality of the goods produce by this organisation are second to none.

The parking area for tourist coaches is the first indication that this place is big business. The crafts are beautiful (and expensive) but any local artisanal charm is destroyed motorway service station efficiency of the sales operation.

There is a free tour of the places where some artisans do some products and then you go to the shop where you can buy some nice objects. Of course the place is just for tourist and so the price are a little inflationated and expensive.

Here one get to see (for free) the carving process, painting and ceramic making. The best part was the painting section where the hearing and speaking impaired are employed as artisans.

You can learn the basics of the biggest arts and crafts in Cambodia worth the trip there and the tour.

While the night markets and elsewhere may have similar style of souvenirs at a fraction of the price, it is always worthwhile to at least have a wee bit of your budget to support a good cause and this is the place. The workmanship is miles better than the factory stuff and it is good to see many people being... More

Ended up at the Workshops in Siem Reap when travelling around the area and on the way back from Tonle Sap. Was amazed at the range of crafts being taught and demonstrated while there. The number of people with disabilities in Cambodia is very high and there is little to support them. The workshops train and provide work place for... More
