Lovely leafy plaza with lots of trees to get out of the sun's heat for a bit. Plenty of seating all around. A big and inviting plaza with a lovely view of the cathedral. Could spend a good amount of time here relaxing and people watching.

This is a meeting point in Santa Cruz. There are people all ages talking, playing games and eating. There are also nice buildings and restaurants around.

Coming from Paraguay to be at this Bolivian plaza is wonderful. You feel a sense of community. The square is well taken care of. It is clean, the garden like vegetation is well maintained. It is pleasantly illuminated. For about a week I spent every early evening here and witnessed no aggression of disturbance. People are friendly and get along.... More

This is a major hangout for locals of all ages and you never know what you will see here. Never seen one of the fabled tree sloths though. They have made the street in front of the cathedral pedestrians-only so that makes the plaza a little nicer and less noisy. They don't let any micros (taxi-buses) around the plaza either.... More

This place is hoppin. We were in Santa Cruz for 3 days and the square was crowded all day until about 9pm. Our hotel was close and we sat and watched life go by several times. If you care to see other things about Bolivia see our not for profit blog at havecarryonwilltravel.com. Don't just pass through this plaza spend... More

Beautiful green space to sit and take in the atmosphere. It's a typical South American plaza in front of the cathedral, with shops and cafes around. Visit it at night and it will be all lit up. Try the coffee from the strolling coffee vendors in their white jackets. You'll get a small cup of local brew.

This square is not too big, but is a “must see" when you visit Santa Cruz... the little green landscape is perfect for relaxing and enjoy sun, also can take some good pictures... You can check if it's available to get into the church because view must be perfect... around this square you can found good places to eat and... More

Like any city in Bolivia, Santa Cruz has a decent square. This one is nice because of the vegetation, good bars around, nice view and most of the times good weather.

...you'll see the "real Santa Cruz". From toddlers to folks near 100 (if not more!), and everything in between. People watching at its best!

It's a place to sit or stroll, to people watch, and to take a photo of the Cathedral. It's not the nicest plaza in the world, but certainty not the worst either. If you're in quiet Santa Cruz, it should be on your to-do list.
