The street from Santa Cruz to Samaipata is super scenic. You can take a collectivo for some Dollars there. The ride takes about 3 hours. To have the best views, try to sit in the front of the collectivo

Samaipata has lots of attractions and many activities to do, just need to get in touch with a good guide and that's it. It is a must visit area, you'll not regret; visit Samaipata and discover what there is for you.

The "highway" from Santa Cruz to Samaipata takes you from the flat of the lowlands through the narrow, winding and steeply enclined river valley that leads to Samaipata and the ancient El Fuerte. The road is rarely in good condition and is frequently under repair...More

A horrible road to drive on But a great road none the less. If it rains then the road gets a bit dodgy. Make sure your car has good suspension!!!!
