Stroll through the history of a once-bustling river town that’s now the serene village of Arrow Rock. You’ll walk streets lined with the architecture of the historic “Boone’s Lick Country.” At Arrow Rock State Historic Site, you may wander into the historic Old Tavern, which dates back to 1834 and provides a dining experience in a period setting or see displays of old-time wares at the Huston Store. You can learn about it all through exhibits in the visitor center. The historic site is part of the larger Village of Arrow Rock, which features quaint stores and a bevy of antique shops.

I kept seeing signs along I70 and decided to stop by since the day was so beautiful. This was a great decision. The community is a mix of real people living amongst a historical site with the usual tourist attractions; shops, parks and museums. I'm told in the summer it fun with people dressed up and giving tours. Many of... More

I've wanted to see the Lyceum theater at Arrow Rock and the village for years. Goofy innkeeper with a day off in January drove thru only to discover a charming piece of history snoozing thru the winter months! We did visit the State Historic Site and a kind park ranger unlocked the visitor center/museum so this fidgeting lady could go... More

Very interesting stop on our trip across Missouri. The village is fascinating and the visitor center/museum are very interesting. We walked around the village, enjoying all the old buildings, and had a very nice picnic lunch in the picnic area.

We stopped by the visitors center to use the restroom not knowing what was inside the building. We were pleasantly surprised to see all of the artifacts that were on display from the period of history that we were viewing. This is definitely something you should visit when you come to Arrow Rock.

I love history and visiting places where they've set up museum areas where you can learn something about the past is fascinating. You can visit the visitors' center and then walk around the old town. There are walking trails and a place where you can walk down to the Missouri River where Lewis and Clark crossed. Unfortunately, it was getting... More

I had a great day here. Saw a play at the theater, ate at the old tavern and strolled the streets to see the sights. Wonderful place.

Loved the small settlement. Everyone was very nice, stores were clean and well displayed, the Tavern was decent, very small menu but worth it for the atmosphere.

The town centers around its outstanding theater, so while there it is essential to visit the few sites they offer and get the feel for why it was founded, why it prospered and what caused its demise.

Went on a Saturday morning arriving at 10:30. Only two stores were open. And most of the historic buildings had hanging signs that said Closed Today. We wanted to see the gun shop but it's closed for renovation and you can only see Bingham's home if you take the tour. What a waste of time to visit here.
