Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We try to visit the Barn each season. This year Wizard of Oz. We always enjoy the shows. Not too big that almost all seats are good. I have sat in last row and was hard to hear. There is a walk from car to theater however a golf cart ride is available if need it. Ac is always good in there in summer too. Enjoy.

Great place for summer theater. Yes, it's older and doesn't have all the modern perks of modern theater, but it was comfortable and everything was very well maintained. The show was well produced and provided for an enjoyable evening. My only downside would be the after-show. It was entertaining, but boy, you are packed in like sardines. We had a really difficult time getting a server to get us drinks. Skip the snacks, not really worth it. I'd rather make a direct donation to them. You can tell the kids working there enjoy it, which always makes it more fun for the patrons.

Went to see Mama Mia last night with my granddaughter and daughter who has MS. When i called to get the tickets, i asked about getting from the car to the theater and was told they had a golf cart that would transport daughter and wheelchair. I called to confirm the day before and was told to tell the person showing us where to park that we needed a golf cart and one would come. When we got there, i went ahead and picked up our tickets at the will call window and WAITEd. I kept seeing the golf cart go by but not with my daughter. After about 15 minutes my grandaughter came pushing my daughter in the wheelchair. When i asked about the golf cart, they said they were told it operated in sections of the parking lot and they would have to wait longer. So we pushed the wheelchair UP the hill on the left. When we got in the theater the aisles are so narrow the wheelchair barely fit and they put it by the door. At intermission, we had to wait to go to the ONE bathroom because it was pouring rain so by the time we pushed the wheelchair to the bathroom we were last in line and waited a long time (not a problem unless you're not well!). At the end, we pushed the wheelchair down the steep incline to the car. It's an old theater so I probably should have known better than to even try. The performance was really good and a lot of fun, but definitely will not try to go again. While i truly believe they try to accommodate disabilities, they are just not able to do that. Everyone was friendly and tried to be helpful but the facility just doesn't have the resources available. Would totally recommend for healthy, able bodied persons.

Had a great time at the theater last night..unfortunately I find that as I get older, the seats are very uncomfortable..I paid more $$ to sit in the middle section for more leg room,as well. But a good production of the Spelling Bee play.

This is a must experience, my family has been going to it since it opened 1946. They have shows for young and old. Now you can have dinner first catered by good local places. After show go to Rehearsal Shed for more entertainment and drinks, great night!

I have seen several plays here and they all have been great! The last one I saw was the Wizard of Oz. You cannot go wrong with this place it’s a beautifully restored old barn and then after you’re done you can go have cocktails right next store. The actors actually serve the beer doesn’t get any better than that!

If you want a delightful evening with energetic and enthusiastic performances in an inviting small town setting, head to the Barn Theatre in Augusta! My husband had been there years ago but we didn’t rediscover it until three years ago when we went to Singing in the Rain! We have been back at least once a summer ever since! This time, I knew I needed to review it to be sure others would find and enjoy it too. First surprise is that it is the longest running summer threater company in Michigan with many professional actors.
It really is held in a big barn! You are made to feel like part of the family as the actors in the plays are also helping sell tickets, park the cars and serve refreshments while in costume!
The performances are consistently well done and there is amazing talent in the singing and dancing. We recently were there for the opening of Bullets over Broadway, musical we didn’t know anything about, except hearing it was partly written by Woody Allen and had been a funny movie. We truly enjoyed it and were impressed at the vocal talent of the lead characters especially!
Another GREAT perk is the Rehearsal Shed Venu, where, after the performance you can go for drinks and munchies of several kinds, and enjoy three mini cabaret shows by others in the cast in a small setting. This is also not to be missed and one of the highlights in enjoying musical talents that abound. It is also clear how much fun the actors have together.
This is a venue that will be part of our summers for many years to come. We have taken our grandchildren( Newsies last year) and they even have a forum for a Back Stage Experience where kids can see first hand all the components of putting a production together from costumes to makeup. The staff is all friendly and you will leave with a smile on your face seeing these actors and interns working and sharing their crafts. It is a delight!

Top notch as always. Beauty and the Beast was simply magical. Fabulous theatre for all ages. The updates have made a world of difference. You will not be disappointed by any performance you choose to see.

Girls night out, and we went to see Beauty and the Beast. The acting was superb for that small of a venue, and the costumes outstanding. We also went to the after hour event, which was enjoyable. Parking is on the lawn, so don't bring your low profile sports car. Highly recommend.
