This museum located in the upper part of the city displays various examples of the weaving works done by various indigenous peoples (jalq'a etc..). It can be visited in an hour or so and there are films on traditional dances. Very interesting.

Enjoyed seeing different tapestries made through the years, but would have enjoyed seeing the woman at the entrance actually weaving and not just sort of sitting in front of her unfinished product. There were some really beautiful individual pieces on display.

There is much involved here, and you should take time to absorb the subtleties. You don't need to be a fabric afficionado to accept the culture involved.

A visit to Sucre would not be complete without a visit to the Recoleta, a high "mirador" overlooking the entire city and to ASUR, the Museum of Indigenous Art off the Recoleta square. The museum has a wonderful collection of textiles by the region's indigenous...More

One of the two best textile museums I visited in South America. The different styles of fabric weaving were absolutely fascinating as works in their own right. I also deeply appreciated the availability of the book containing English translations of all didactic information which was...More

Definitely worth the trip here - we got a bus from our hotel but otherwise it would be 20+ min walk from the centre. Very well laid out although the signs are only in Spanish so if like me you don't speak Spanish you will...More
