    The Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve (DDCR) is a designated protected area for the conservation the natural inland desert ecosystem of Dubai. It spans 4.7% of the total land area of Dubai Emirate and encompasses 225km2 of sand dunes desert ecosystem interspersed with gravel plains. The DDCR is a member of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and has gained international recognition from the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP). The DDCR is home to 57 Plant species, over 120 birds and 43 mammals and reptiles including the iconic Arabian Oryx. The DDCR can be visited by either staying at the Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa or for day visits with one of the four concession holders; Arabian Adventures, Lama Tours, Travco and Alpha Tours.

    Evening ride in the desert

    Great 4 wheeling experience! Beautiful sunset.Very experienced drivers. We had the opportunity to ride a camel - something I thought I would never do., if was really fun. Dinner and entertainment were excellent.

    Had to experience this... except the camel ride!

    I enjoyed every bit of the show minus the camel ride. The show was magnificent and jaw dropping experience. The food is not that great. If your are plenty of more than 8 people then maybe you can get the VIP slots on the side...More

    Dubai Stop Over

    After our 4WD throught the reserve we found a lot more of the desert wildlife than we thought existed this was around dusk and sun set what an eye opener.

    Good trip

    The desert is just plain scary - so hot so desolate absolutely no idea how the Bedouins managed to survive. Obviously it was explained but still amazing what people can cope with. Anyway it was an informative trip

    DIFFERANT SIDE OF DUBAI

    It is quite surprising that after about 10/15mins you are out in the desert away from the main tourist area.The area has some wildlife and great terrain

    Hi everyone I m looking to book the evening trip to the desert on a Sunday , just want to know anyone recommends any? Because there is so many companies doin it I don't no which one the choose 😀I m very interested the vintage Land Rover one , I no it's abit extra compare to others but looks good, wAs anyone had a trip wit this group to share experience? Also I'm staying out the palm Sofitel, I want to know do they do hotel pickup there due to they all say central Dubai hotel? Thx so much 😀

    We just went back in Feb with Platinum Heritage amd they were FANTASTIC!! Great time, really wonderful guides, wonderful dinner at desert camp. You cannot go wrong with them!

    Not interested in dune bashing or camel rides, do you actually get the opportunity to see some real wildlife on the trips to the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve?

    You don't get to see the wildlife except for few trained camels.

    No, the desert is quite far from the city and cannot be accessed by the metro.
