The excellence of The FrameI
Mar 2019 • Solo
I have just returned from a visit to Dubai during which on Friday March 29, I went to see The Frame.I have tried for 2 hours this morning ( UK time) to phone the appropriate department in Dubai Municipality. My purpose is to compliment the efficiency of one of the guides at The Frame.I would like her employer to acknowledge my comments and so I hope that they are aware of Tripadvisor!!

The guide was number 27762, named Karen O. Velasco. She was so knowledgable and qualified that I was privy to a very in-depth description of The Frame architecture - the Divine Proportion, Sheik Zayed's mosaic and every detailed building which I asked about. I have been visiting Dubai since 1976 and was therefore more appreciative of this information than the regular tourist.

I hope that this employee might be complimented by her employer and I am anxious that she be made aware of my effort to remember her interesting and quite memorable account of Dubai's history. Contrary to some of the comments written, I was completely gobsmacked by The Frame - it is of epic proportion and so beautifully representative of the past, the present and the future. My best wishes for continued success to all Dubai enterprise.

Historical and political
Apr 2018 • Solo
Dubai Municipality Museum is a small and quaint museum located in the Old Baladiya Road and Market. It exhibits artifacts, antiques and documents that are reminiscent of the political planning of the city. City maps of 1900 and the 1960s are showcased as well as the various official government stamps that had been used by the local government over time. The museum itself is architecturally attractive with its long balcony that looks out into the old city. If you have the time, this is a nice place to visit – especially when in the area of the Old Baladiya Road and Market.

Nothing much to write home about
Apr 2018 • Solo
The Dubai Municipality museum is at the site of the old municipality headquarters. A small building, located right next to the Spice Souk, it is often ignored. I recently paid it a visit while passing through the souks.

The building's entrance is towards the rear and is located in 3 rooms on the 1st floor. For a tourist, the only noticeable thing is that entry is free. Apart from some old pics of the municipality's formation and some brief on its functions and some projects it undertook, it gave a underwhelming feel and I was out within 5 minutes. There are books available for sale outside as well.

In my opinion, one can easily give this museum a skip without missing much. The Dubai Museum in Bur Dubai is a lot more informative and entertaining.

Interesting visit to this historic place
Aug 2017 • Family
Enjoyed the short video about the planning and construction of Dubai. Interesting to sit in the same room as the Sheikh and others who planned this city, and to read some historical documentation.
No specific tour or timings so can stay as long or as short as you want.
Air conditioning inside rooms is very nice at this time of year and makes a pleasant change from the nearby spice Souq.
Easily accessible from the abras (boats) on the creek and free admission is great.

We learned a lot!
May 2017 • Couples
This is a small but informative museum that describes the development of the Emirates. It shows how recently it was simply bedouins who roamed the desert & now how modern everything has become. We learned that until oil was discovered the main trade was in pearl diving. Who knew?
The tour will take about 1 hour.
