About
Described as both a ‘Vertical City’ and ‘A Living Wonder,’ Burj Khalifa, developed by Dubai-based Emaar Properties PJSC, is the world’s tallest building. Rising gracefully from the desert, Burj Khalifa honours the city with its extraordinary union of art, engineering and meticulous craftsmanship. At 828 metres (2,716.5 ft), the 200 plus storey Burj Khalifa has 160 habitable levels, the most of any building in the world. The tower was inaugurated on January 4, 2010, and is responsible for a number of world-firsts. The tower became the world’s tallest man-made structure just 1,325 days after excavation work started in January 2004. Burj Khalifa utilised a record-breaking 330,000 cubic metres of concrete; 39,000 tonnes of steel reinforcement; 103,000 square metres of glass; and 15,500 square metres of embossed stainless steel. The tower took 22 million man hours to build.

Address
Neighbourhood: Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.

We went to the 127th floor and that elevator was super fast. I think we arrived in less than a minute to the top. The views were spectacular and you get a 360 review which was awesome.

This is the world tallest building. It is beautiful to look at from a distance or even close by. The view is the Burj Khalifa, not from it. Nothing special on the observation floors.

If you visit Dubai, there's no avoiding this place really. It's an absolute marvel of engineering. The view from the observation deck (floor 124) is excellent and is actually exceeded when you climb up to floor 125. Here you will find a few gimmicky attractions like the glass walkway which 'cracks' as you walk across it.

Our top tip is not to purchase your tickets from the ticket booth. Instead, use one of the better tour apps (Viator or Tiqet) to secure a cheaper ticket price especially when combined with other attractions.

Came here with tickets bought online. After waiting in line, the counter agent said we needed the actual email, which we never got. They emailed it to us again and after 20 minutes, we still never got it. Finally someone just escorted us to security because they couldn’t send us the email. That alone took 30 mins. Once past security, the line to the elevators took another hour plus in a slow moving line.
Once we got to the 124th floor the viewing platform was small and the view wasn’t that great. The windows were dirty on the other sides so you couldn’t see much. We spent maybe 20 minutes up too before going down again. It was honestly a waste of time and money. It pales in comparison to experience at the WTC Freedom tower in NYC.

Most people choose to stop at the 128th floor. With additional payment, it is worth going all the way to the 148th or 154th floor.

A very impressive place to visit in Dubai. Buy tickets in advance and come 15-20 minutes earlier in order to avoid the crowd. Personally, I think morning is a better time to visit.

When we visited Burj Khalifa, our time was not limited by 30 minutes at the 148th floor. Maybe this changed during other seasons. Also, be aware that when you buy a ticket for the 148th, you get a fast track (nice complement to the visit, as it saves you time), but also an obligation to go to the 148 th first!
Sunset experience is overrated, to my eyes, but it is better to watch it, if your schedule allows for that.

I recommend everyone to visit Burj Khalifa, at least once, when in Dubai. It offers a great view of the city.
