About
As one of the Emirates' oldest traditional markets, Dubai Gold Souk has over 350 retailers trading tax-free gold of different carats, designs and weights. There are also precious stones, strings of pearls, platinum and silver available here. You can bargain at the market, and enjoy better rates when paying in cash. To reach the Gold Souk, you can take an inexpensive abra ride across Dubai Creek, and combine your visit with nearby attractions like the Bur Dubai Grand Mosque, Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood and Al Seef.

    Shopping under duress!
Great market for spices, teas, gold, and anything else you may want to fine. Unfortunately, salesperson are extremely aggressive in trying to get you to buy or come into their shops. It was truly annoying. However, I did like that I was able to negotiate price for goods.

    Dubai city of gold
Plenty of gold shops from Malabar & Joyalukas to even lesser known brands. Approx 285 stores from 10 countries. As we make our way around, plenty of hawkers slyly observing you, ask whether you need any bags / sunglasses & then guide you to the first floor shops selling FAKE / copies of branded bags, sunglasses & clothes.

    Avarage stroll
One of the places to receive lots of attention in Dubai. Certainly huge number of shops which can appeal to any tastes. It can be a good entertainment if you enjoy bargaining. We had a bit of fun with our daughter who wanted to spend her Christmas money on golden earrings. At the same if you are after buying gold you can equally go to any mall in Dubai, I don’t think you will get anything cheaper there, as you are expectacted to bargain anywhere. In terms of experience it’s rather average, it doesn’t have authentic atmosphere of other souks like ones in Marrakesh. It’s all fairly new built, all the shops are very similar and rather uncharacteristic. On a plus side you will not be bothered so much as in other countries, you will be invited and offered different items, including luxury brand fake good but sellers back off quite easily so not too much hassle. The area around is worth more attention as it has a bit more authentic feeling and variety of cheap restaurants and bars.

    They sell gold
Worth a visit whilst in Dubai. My partner bought some earrings and a chain she was happy with. The Gold Souk is just one portion of the area and like all markets, expect to be hassled. Having said that, I’ve experienced far worse in other parts of the world to be fair. Get something to eat and drink beforehand though as we found little in the area to eat.

A must see place or if you’re looking for 24ct gold shopping
Haven’t been for a few years but if you have been before not a lot has changed except the street hawkers offering to take to buy fake bags & watches has become more aggressive. If you e also been to the other souks in Deira it starts to get very tiresome. Yet it’s still’s a must for a first time visitor as the amount of gold and window displays are fabulous. Obviously a great place to go if you’re looking for some jewellery but most shops sell 24ct which is not typically what I’d personally choose as some looks very yellow and potentially fake. You need to hunt around for stores selling 18ct. So definitely some research and advice would be a plus, if you’re looking for more European style gold jewellery.

    Buy With precautions
The gold souk place was amazing to visit. Just be aware to buy the gold, because sometimes they show us the pure gold and packed us the duplicate one. The price is almost similar to India gold price. If you buy large sum gold then only one can make saving and in that there is no making charges or else if you buy less gold then one had to pay the making charges.

Why buy gold in a souk?
The idea to sell gold items and jewelry in a souk probably came from India. There, people are more familiar with precious metals and ornaments because they often served as dowry. In difficult times the family could sell their gold in order to survive and buy it back when their fortunes changed. For a westerner it is mind blowing to enter Dubai gold souk and bargain in a kind of market setting. Perhaps a reason why nearby modern style boutiques have opened up, with more space for exhibits and the client. Do not start a bargaining process if you have no clue about prices.

    NEGOTIABLE YELLOW METAL MARKET
No fun. Only gold jewellery which is expensive because of heavy making charges being charged. Though it’s negotiable but did not expect such big margin difference after it was negotiated. On Old Baladiya street, adjoining Gold Souq there is spice market Herb Souq. Beware of duplicate herbs specially Saffron. They add essence to call it pure saffron but it is simply some hairy weed coloured and perfumed. I suggest only ⭐️⭐️ to the place

The Gold Souk is defiantly worth a visit in Dubai. Best time to visit is in the evenings. Wear flat shoes as you will do a lot of walking. In addition to the gold and Jewellery you can buy the following other items . Spices Perfume watch out for fakes Designer clothing watch out for fakes You can also catch a very affordable meal in the many sidewalk cafes. They have high turn over so food is fresh. One negative is the amount of husslers that try sell you stuff and pull you into shops. Just ignore them and keep walking. Over the years there are a lot more of them sadly.

This was an interesting experience. I do not buy or wear gold and have zero interest in it, I am more into silver, however it was interesting to see all this gold in one place, and items like masks and scarves being made of gold too, which I never imagined. There are also a lot of diamond ring shops which seem great for anyone wanting to propose and pick up a ring here. Most stores seem to be Indian sellers. Compared to the spice and Utensils souk it is quite unique.

Interesting place to explore. A fair way by Metro from where we were staying near the Palm, but good to experience the ambience of the place. Not sure I would return though.

Seemingly endless, the gold shops have plenty to offer. I would be intimidated purchasing something here, but if you know the prices should be possible. A bit overwhelming and repetitious.

We were disappointed with the Souk, just lots of crowded shops with mainly yellow gold that is expensive. You can bargain though. It is mainly undercover down the walkway but it is hot and busy. Make sure you take change for the toilet!

Wow, so much gold to see. A real eye opener. We had a great morning exploring the souk, both window shopping and bartering. The prices were reasonable and the shops were keen to strike a deal.
The gold souk is a must see in Dubai.

Awesome market, eye opening and a real experience.
If you hate haggling or being hawked then you may have problems.
But suck up the atmosphere and haggle in the back rooms and you will be pleasantly surprised. Great copies available

Had no intention of buying anything but well worth the visit. Some of the gold jewellery is amazing to see. Yes, you will be hassled, but then you’d feel let down if you weren’t… The main area is under cover so you can stroll around out of the direct sun.

I would like to strongly recommend having any ring bespoke made by a trusted family Jewllers /gemstone company in the gold souk
Deira. The company is called Haseeb Farooqi.
Quality product at a great price. This is my second time with this family run company and would not go anywhere else. Thank you and my you prosper in your new shop.

Every shop will entice you into their store and try and sell you their wares. Whatever price they offer take 50% off then you can make up your mind.
