Top ways to experience Jumeirah Public Beach
The area
Neighbourhood: Jumeirah
Years ago, before the skyscrapers, before the 12-lane highway, there was only Jumeirah. In fact, when the UAE was formed, its rulers signed the agreement in Union House, at the very start of Jumeirah Beach Road. Often called “The Beverly Hills” of Dubai, a drive down Beach Road reveals one enormous, lavish villa after another. Originally residential-only neighbourhoods, they are now also home to an array of cafes, smart boutiques, and art galleries. Home to one of Dubai’s few public beaches, this recently renovated area includes a new boardwalk, running and walking track, with changing facilities and cafes along the way. Another landmark, Jumeirah Mosque, is the only mosque in Dubai that can be entered by non-Muslims. As part of the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, the mosque hosts regular tours and talks about Islam, as part of an “Open Doors, Open Minds” program. A wonderful way to understand more about the UAE and Islam.

It’s a fabulous if busy public beach. It’s very popular with the water sport scene but there are periodic designed swim areas along the beach.
Like most places, they are only as nice as people keep them and it was disappointing to see swathes of plastic/ rubbish in the sea and in places on the beach.
There’s plenty of activities along the beach, from parks, the aqua park and water sports kiosks. There’s a nice wooden walk way for most of the beach and lovely views day or night. Plenty of shops and places to eat, clean public toilets and showers (close at 9pm) and there’s also a spot with fair ground type games and activities.

The beach is clean and fairly quiet. I wouldn't recommend opting for the private beach areas, the public part is good enough. We've been there on numerous instances and never were bothered by anyone. Some people will try to sell you stuff (drinks, tours) but they're not insisting and very polite overall. It is also safe at night.

Jumeirah Beach is a white sand beach that is located and named after the Jumeirah district of Dubai. It stretches along the coast south of the city's historic district to the junction with The Palm Jumeirah and terminates between the southern end of the Jumeirah Beach Residence (adjacent to the Dubai Marina district) and the port facilities at Jebel Ali. Public beach with no entrance fees.

My husband and I visited Jumeirah Beach as part of our Dubai day tour and immediately made the decision to come back independently. The water is crystal clear, and in September it was warm and therapeutic. There are beautiful sea shells and fish. There are also small outdoor tiki-like spaces that sell food and drinks. If you plan to sunbathe, you may want to bring your own lounge chairs or towels as we didn't see them readily accessible. If you are beach lover, this is a Dubai must.

Nice enough beach. Clean sand and a few shacks selling drinks etc. Good views of the Burj al Arab. Plenty of construction going on in the area though. I arrived by bus which is a 2 minute walk from the beach.

Tourist beach, not dangerous. You can do also a nice walk or rest. As it is free, you can decide to sunbathing and then do a nice walk on the beach. Possibility to do a camel ride. Nice view.
