About
Mimicking a traditional Arabian bazaar, Souk Madinat Jumeirah is a popular marketplace in Dubai. It’s interconnected with waterways, lined with bars and bistros, as well as offers a picture-perfect view of the Burj Al Arab. Here, you can get adrift in a maze of stalls and browse everything from oud perfumes and glimmering jewelry to fragrant spices and Turkish pottery. You can also plan for an alfresco meal and soak in the good vibes outdoors. That’s not all—the best way to admire the bazaar is to hop on a traditional Emirati-style gondola and sail along the tranquil waterways. – Tripadvisor

We stumbled across this venue and I must say after 2 visits the barman knew us from just walking in. Pramod is the star of this place. Welcoming humble and a genuine first class man

The Souk Madinat Jumeirah is a relatively small indoor market, which over the years has turned into a tourist trap with not a lot of options. I've been to it some years ago and it was a nice experience combined with lunch / dinner at the Madinat restaurants, but these days there are security guards which prevent you from going to the restaurants unless you have a reservation. Total turn-off for us, and we will never ever recommend this place. Not worth it to visit. Jumeirah Al Qasr also over-priced and not worth it.

This was an interesting recreation of a souk, or bazaar - however, having been to the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul this is not that. It's a very upscale shopping center in an interesting architectural style. There are many and varied shops, some are quality. There are high priced restaurants on the canal.

Lovely place for a day out. We've been to Dubai so many times, but we have never visited Jumeirah Madinat. It is picturesque and has so much to offer. The souk is a lovely indoor (cool) place to walk around. Lots of window shopping or shopping, whatever suits you. We brought some lovely gifts from here.
It has lots of restaurants where you can sit in or out. Also worth doing is the Abra trip, which takes you through the waterways, it's relaxing to see the flora and fauna and architecture (uninterrupted view of the Burj Al Arab hotel) for 100 AED pp.
We enjoyed a great lunch at Publique too.

We loved this and it is something nice to do. My elderly mother-in-law enjoyed it very much.
Anyone visiting Dubai should visit Jumeirah Madinat, great photo opportunities and relaxing and there is no entry fee.

Be sure to look around and do a little shopping in the many small shops and then go to one of the restaurants along the canals that remind you of little Venice.

Nothing authentic about this place, just overpriced tourist souvenirs and chain shops. Hassled by shop owners pushing their products down your throat and then overcharging you. Find a real souk market and don’t go here.

Poor Disney-like imitation of the real thing. Good for mass tourism, not for the culture-seeker. Even after negotiating you feel cheated.

Very good location but overpriced and busy most of the time. Very touristic destination, close to Burj Al Arab, full of restaurants and coffee shops but still hard to find a good one. Nothing fancy, just a nice location.

only cares for money but not on the welfare of animals especially to harmless cats
