Resembling an imposing castle fortress, this citadel was built in the 1480s by Sultan Qaitbey on the site of the Pharos Lighthouse, to protect the city from the crusaders who used to attack the city by sea.

This place was so very large with interesting rooms shooting off all over the place, it was erected on the sight of the famous lighthouse of Alexandria and is protected at the back by very rough seas and rocks.
