In a modern city trying to rebuild, it's nice to see some beautiful remnants of the past and this mosque is one of the most aesthetically pleasing. Undergoing a lengthy refurbishment but worth having a look regardless as not far from the centre or popular hotels, situated on the edge of the old town.

Çarshia Mosque was built in fifteenth century, which makes it one of the oldest objects in Prishtina. It used to be the center of Prishtina's Bazaar, which doesn't exist today. It's uniqueness lies in the way it was built and the way it preserved its originality until these days. Unfortunately, it is still undergoing restauration, so it's not possible to... More

This mosque is obviously very old and looks interesting from the outside, but it is undergoing much-needed repairs so as of this writing it remains off limits for visitors.

This mosque shows you that the city had a live before Kosovo state....everithing in the city is quite new and modern except this mosque and some other few buildings. It was a pitty thet the mosque was closed when we was there and it seems that nobody takes care of this place anymore.

On a short stop through in the city I navigated the city and ended up here. Inside you can find what remains of archaeological finds preceding the troubles of 1998. What they had on show was fine, interesting and considering admission was free worthwhile to visit, yet at every corner notices were placed about items that once belonged to the... More

Thank goodness the old mosques, like this one, have survived the reckless 'modernization' that has destroyed so much of Prishtina's architectural heritage... Wonderful old buildings still surviving on side streets seem unlikely to get the attention that the Mosques do; and this if very sad.
