The city walls which are an impressive 7 metres high (approximately) are really more of a fantastic historical reminder of the need to protect the Old Town (Stari Grad) from invaders. Ther is a small part of the wall available to walk along but you...More

Although it seems impossible (until it's done), give it a try! Yes, it is quite hard and yes, You will feel tired, but it is definitely worth it. We decided to give it a try when we were walking down in the old town and...More

Climb to the top of the walls and you will get a beautiful view of the bay. It is fatiguing but totally worth it!

The views are amazing but if you can't make it too high is ok. You will be able to get beautiful pictures a few minutes after starting to climb. Bring water, comfortable shoes. Not for little kids what you need to carry.

I could not believe what I saw when I first got off the bus. Stretching for over 6 miles was this incredible 10 t0 20 feet high avenue they call a wall big enough to hold hundreds of troops at a time. Not a wall...More

The minute I saw these walls I knew I was being taken back to the historical days of medieval life. I embraced that feeling for the whole day here.

There's only a small section open to the public, worth finding the stairs, but not an essential part of the town - They look better from the river bridge and the outside and don't really give any spectacular views.

The ambition was to get to the top and I did but it takes a couple of hours at a fair rate and is quite steep and the path is not all smooth steps. The walls are not complete but the view over the old...More

When in Kotor you have to do the city walls tour as it is absolutely fantastic and gives you breathtaking views of the town and the bay. You do have to be fit and able because there are some very steep steps.

The city walls of Kotor are fully preserved and a very large facility that encloses not only the old town, but also the rocks above it. They have three entrance gates around the city and climb to the highest point above the city.To climb above...More

Personally I'd say no. I don't remember seeing any children when I went last week. It's quite demanding... there are viewing points though before you get to the top, so maybe don't expect to be able to make it all the way... More

Hi Stimbo, I did the walk in March, and went up and down the same route. We started near La Dolce Vita Apartments and it is quite a trek, but worth it for the views. I've heard that it is 1400 steps and that might be... More
