Very beautiful Opera. You can visit daily, even if You didn't take the clothes for Opera or Ballet, go and see the beautiful interior.

Loved it!
Dec 2019
A beautiful opera house! I visit operas not very often, but I just needed to visit this one, after eating and drinking the whole day in this beautiful city(Lviv) we decided to get a little bit drunk on culture and cognac :D. But seriously we had a good experience, I do recommend for everyone who likes opera!

We went here for the opera and had a great experience. Tip: order your tickets online before you go. Had the level one first booth seats one and two next to the stage for only $20 each.

Beautiful building
Nov 2019
We lived in old town L’viv’s in 5 min from Lviv National Opera. Everyday we passed the building of National Opera. And of course we couldn't lose the chance to see the show (Italians operetta). Inside the building is more beautiful, than outside. In the evening the building of National Opera are decorated with illumination.

Jaw dropping & must see!

We’ve booked tickets online in advance before traveling to Lviv but you can also buy from the ticket office in the building. First of all comparing to other performance halls in Europe and US the ticket prices are sooo affordable and this is very good. Apart from that we beauty of the building, the architecture and the engravings are just MAGNIFICENT! You must see a show or a ballet or opera minimum once. There is a cloakroom and you can enjoy a glass of Prosecco and some treats before or during the break. Definitely recommended!

Beautiful opera in a lovely building
Oct 2019
I have been here several times, and always enjoyed the performance and the building. The shows start early, around 6pm, so it is easy for young families to go.

No Fountain in front of it any more
Dec 2019
They removed the Fountain in front of the Opera House, so the square looks much emptier than before, with an empty pit. The Opera building is the same of caurse, very beautiful.

Visiting Lviv, I could not pass on a chance to go and see the famous Opera. What a beautiful building we went to see Rigoletto. You can easily reserve a ticket online or go directly and buy a ticket. It costs about 10 euro. I really enjoyed it!

Architecturally Spectacular but ....
Oct 2019
A can’t miss, architecturally stunning, opera house; dominates the great Svobody (Liberty) Avenue, leaves an unforgettable impression. Its classical Renaissance-Baroque lines make it the equal of almost any in Europe. Walk towards it along the length of Svobody Ave and be awed. Those who have attended performances here are dazzled by its beauty; however a daytime visit to the opera house in October was disappointing. The marbled entrance hall with its striking portrait of Ukraine’s greatest opera star, Solomiya Krushelnytska, is dramatic; the smaller performance theatre known as The Hall of Mirrors is dazzling but a visit to the main 1,000 seat auditorium, which should be the centrepiece of any visit, is totally underwhelming. This is an Opera House which has seen spectacular performances and is much loved by everybody in Ukraine. But during visiting hours, it is gloomily lit; access is controlled to one small balcony area and none of the internationally renowned stage curtains are visible. The brochure tells us there are three curtains – one of which ‘Parnassus’ by Henryk Siemiradzki “belongs to the best monumental paintings of Lviv”. However all were concealed behind a dull, blanketing front of house curtain. The famous “Parnassus” is only on display at week-ends before evening performances. A great disappointment. Equally the auditorium should be brightly lit during the day to allow visitors to appreciate its elegance. Do try to get to a performance; do savour its great architecture and do seek out the story of “Glory” the dramatic sculpture that sits atop the central pediment; look closely at “Glory’s” outline and see if you can be tempted to enquire about it, as Professor Mars was many many years ago. But Opera House directors: try to showcase the wonderful auditorium in a much more illuminating way.
