The twin gates were built by the Romans in the 2nd century along the protective city walls to serve as an entrance to the arena. While not impressive in scale as many other arches and gates built during this era, they are one of the few gates to survive the city's expansion in the medieval period and the industrial era.

Lovely twin arches but just blank walls behind and no posting or description of any sort. Worth a look but I wouldn't go out of my way. The 'Hop on' bus passes them for a quick photo.

This gate is worth a quick look as you are passing but is far from the most interesting thing in this wonderful town.

Worth passing by, not too much to see though. Not any information on it that I could see. Don't go out of the way though.

As there are many more fascinating monuments cant see this one sticking out. Just plane gate, no decorations, made to serve a purpose.

The Roman gate with twin arches is one of the few remaining gates which once functioned as an entrance to the city. The gate is aesthetically pleasing and also very well preserved. Worth a look

Beautiful design for the gate. Worth a look if you are around. If you pass the gate, you see the Zerostrasse (underground shelter).

I love this gate with its twin arches that lead into the ancient city; very pleasing proportions. Here you can see sections of the ancient city wall attached. This beautifully designed gates is one of my favorite sites in Pula. This gate dates from the 2nd or 3rd centuries. Delightful. Enjoy!
