Really neat fortress, super cheap admission (3€/pp). Awesome place to get stunning shots of the city, be sure to bring a sweat towel and comfortable walking shoes as it's a good workout. Give yourself enough time to enjoy it leisurely and take lots of photo...More

What an amazing experience! It was fascinating to see the fort, but more importantly, the view from the fortress. I loved it.

This surprised us by being the best museum we visited in Dubrovnik. Housed in the atmospheric St. John's Fortress, which alone is worth the price of admission, the museum traces the history of Adriatic maritime trade from classical times to the twentieth century using ship...More

One can conveniently visit this as a break on a tour of the City Walls. The fortress houses the mritime museum which is interesting and worthwhile. Probably the best museum in town on the history of Dubrovnik.

The Maritime museum inside the fortress was quite interesting. It is a nice point halfway along the city walls (if you start at Pile Gate) that you could stop off and look in as a bit of a break.

Houses the nautical museum. This gives perspective to the different era's as well as The Republic's history. Excellent!

The fortress of St John had to watch and protect the very entrance to the harbour. It is indeed an impressive structure. Now it houses the Maritime Museum and Aquarium.

If you are doing the wall walk, you should remember to stop in here to see this important piece of history. There is no one there so you can enjoy it peacefully. I loved how it chronicled the history with labels in English on paintings,...More
