This island is great to spend a day walking around, of just cooling off in the dead lake. Interesting wildlife and buildings, but be wary of the walk to the fort.... Up is tiring, down can be precarious. Wear decent walking shoes.

We had a gorgeous lunch at the Lacroma restaurant on the island, it was a lovely meal with nice wine and very reasonable.
