Live like the locals whilst exploring the people's square. Along with the Riva, this is the place to be seen, a great meeting spot and wonderful cafe culture. Sit and take it all in here and pinch yourself that you're really in Split!

The People's Square is a nice piazza where one can relax, have a cup of coffee or fill your stomach after touring the Palace compound. It is flanked by several important landmarks like the frist Town Hall which is now an exhibition venue, and a...More

Delightful public square surrounded by typical Dalmatian architecture of a human height. Saturday afternoon several cafe terraces were populated in the sunshine while a group of children were singing to a nice crowd. There's a delightful book store with a dark green facade and awesome...More

People in Split like to have a coffee near the sea, on Riva. But, we enjoyed our coffee here on this small square so much. Local people call this square Pjaca. So cute.

Apart from the old town beauty and the riva stroll this is a public place with cafés and bars. Nothing special.

Through the Iron Gate is the city's main central meeting place. It is overlooked by an interesting clock and is surrounded by beautiful buildings and palaces. This large square contains restaurants and cafes.

Standing with you back to the Roman Iron Gate you can see examples of buildings from the French, Austrian and Venetian owners of Split over the ages and how different their styles are.

We were in this plaza twice, once on our way to see the Diocletian palace and later in the afternoon to stop at one of the bars for a drink and snack. Its a cozy place and much more relaxing than the bars and restaurants...More
