Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our travel agent mentioned this virtual experience so we decided to give it a try. Thought it was done very well - small group so the attendants made sure everything was working properly- even during the show if needed. Show is quick and worth taking a short time out to see it.

This is a virtual reality tour of Diocletian’s Palace as it might have looked in the 4th century. Visitors wear a VR headset and are taken on a tour, guided by a narrator named Severin. We’re guided through the cellars, the vestibule, peristyle, mausoleum and port, all the while Severin is discussing the scene and contemporary events of the day.

The VR is beautifully put together and well scripted. I’ve done VR experiences before, but few quite as immersive as Diocletian's Dream. There’s a tremendous sense of depth as we move our heads around the environment, especially when moving up and down. Kudos to the developers for not skimping on details. The level of detail on the palace decoration is incredible, such as the details of the column capitals and relief sculptures. Next to the palace, this is one of the best things to do in Split.

Unique, Informative, Fun!
I absolutely loved my experience in “Diocletian’s Dream”. I had just walked through the palace area, rooms, mausoleum and seeing the VR film brought all of it to life - with me in the center of it all! So unique and incredibly week-done! The two hosts in the building were simply fabulous!!! Friendly and knowledgeable with all questions. Thank you! Highly recommended.

This is an amazing experience. It really put the Diocletians palace into perspective. It was great to see how it used to be compared to how it is now and we learned so much. Declan was so welcoming and even gave us information for the rest of our stay. Couldn’t have been better. Definitely worth doing.

I like Roman history and I find VR fun but 12 euros for a 15 minute film seems quite steep.

It was an interesting experience and I did enjoy it but I think it could have been longer and more fleshed out, I learned a few things but could have been more impressive if the concept was developed a bit more.

Or it could have been more like 5-8 euros? Either way, not terrible but also not necessarily a great idea if you are on a budget. If you have the money then definitely give it a go!

Dear guest, Thank you kindly for the time you took to visit us and we are glad you enjoyed. Our experience is the least expensive of its kind in the whole of Europe and considering it cost 15,000 euro per minute to put togeother, we feel that the price is more than fair. Also, through research we also found that the optimal time to retain information in VR is 15-17 minutes considering all ages. Thank you, safe travels and welcome again soon. Best wishes, Diocletians Dream VR:)

Great way to supplement the walking tours as a way to help visual the Palace at its peak. Doesn't take long so not a big time commitment. Staff was very accommodating.

This presentation is incredibly well done and gives a wonderful view of how the palace used to be. It adds enormously to the experience of walking around and seeing how it is today. It is well worth a visit, I would say essential to enhance your visit to Split.

I would highly recommend visiting this VR experience after availing of one of the many walking tours available in Split. While a brief 15 minutes, this definitely enhanced our understanding of how the palace and its surrounding fortress looked during the days of the (only) retired Roman emperor.
A must for anyone looking to take in the entirety of the old town.
