Under reconstruction

The steps give you short path to access to the port. But it is under reconstruction nowadays. I think it will be very beautiful after reconstruction...

The whole hill side is closed, so you can see the port and the Black Sea through a hole, not more. So at the moment don't hope to see even the smallest part of the stairs.

Be advised, the steps are under repair and will be for a while. The Greek Gardens are also closed for repairs of the wall.

Famous steps, linking the lower port area with the centre, starting with the Duc de Richleau statu. They have also been in an old battleship film, They are now closed and undergoing a complete renewal which one chap estimated a year, with the surrounding area and adjacent 'funicular' hill car..

Out for a stroll these steps are worthy of a climb looking back across the sea and beeches - well worth making the effort to climb

The Stairs is now under the reconstruction and due to a silly and corrupted city authorities they are now near to be lost forever. City department made a contract with a company that doesnt have an experience of making such works, so now this 130-year monument is destroying. And for sure they will not finish till summer. Now it is... More

Go to the top of the stairs and look down. Now go down the stairs and look up. I say no more. You will notice it by yourself :)

My visit to these stairs was disappointing as the stairs were currently under construction. I'm not sure if the will look any better or very impressive when the work is done but I have no high expectations. Still, as the historical value is high (and the attractions is) worth a visit.
