Nice open square by the Cathedral. Unusual fountain to check out. Lots of ladies selling their wares as well as other shops around the perimeter. Some seating. The Arch is not far from here along one of the roads

Great place to just hang out and people watch. Check out the Fuente de las Sirenas. And on the east end of the park is Catedral San Jose.

It is a nice park with pleasant building surrounding the square. You haven't visited Antigua if you haven't been to the park.

This is a pretty nice park and is full of shops to browse, cafes to sit in and overall good vibes There are definitely people that will hassle you but it wouldnt be a plaza mayor if there werent so many people and vendors all around.

Pretty typical city center with tons of vendors, etc. Several of the vendors would carry their entire display case and merchandise on their heads... The area where the washing takes place (to this day it is used, not many Maytags there) is pretty interesting!

I have never been harassed by as many vendors as I was when I visited The Plaza Central Park. Even when our tour guide was trying to talk, they continued to pester everyone in our group. It was really off-putting.

There is always lots to experience here.... especially on the weekends. you can walk around the area or just sit in the park and take it all in..... a must see and do

We were extremely lucky with our timing as the day after we arrived in Antigua was the Festival of Santiago so the whole square was absolutely full of people milling around and listening to the music. (This was 13th November.) If you can time your visit similarly it’s a great experience. That apart this is still a nice area to visit. Part park and part square with nice garden and ornate fountain. The heart of the city !!

Central plaza is quite lovely and great place to meet after exploring the city on foot. It's safe to roam and soak up the culture in Antiqua. So beautiful and great vibe.

Antigua's central plaza is nicer than we have visited because of all the leafy trees that help keep it cool. It also has sort of a bizarre fountain in the middle.where the water comes out of a woman's breasts! There are a lot of vendors seeking their wares. Try to negotiate the prices as they can be quite high. Otherwise, a nice place to take a break.
