One of the Midwest's premier golf destinations, Grand Traverse's lush location has three distinct championship courses: the original Spruce Run, the Gary Player-designed Wolverine and The Bear, named for its illustrious architect, Jack Nicklaus.

Played on The Bear as a package with the hotel. The service in the pro shop, Clubhouse Grill and starters were just excellent. Great staff. As for The Bear being an 'elite' course, I'd say it's good but not great.

This Gary Player designed course is excellent. It truly offers challenges to golfers of all levels. We played on an overcast day and thoroughly enjoyed the course, the variety of challenges it continued to offer. The front nine winds through lowland terrain with water and...More

This is a great hotel and conference center attached to three world class golf courses. A nice selection of restaurants and shops. The higher the tower room you select the better the view of Lake Michigan. The west rooms have the best views.

We played The Bear and it was a tough course. There were a lot of hazards to get in to. It was also a very fair course with a lot of chances to "go for it". The pace of play was a little slow (5...More

My husband and I played on the Bear course and it was very difficult! If you are an average golfer and don't always hit it straight you may want to play somewhere else. There was too much trouble to get into off of the tee...More
