Okay. You must visit this museum if you visit Nantucket. Once will do you, but they do have special exhibits throughout the year. Our visit was during Christmas Stroll. Very interesting Christmas Trees inside the museum. I also learned more than I thought I would. Everything from lighthouse beacons to amazing artwork. I was most taken by the stenciled stained... This small museum has a committed staff that is proud of Nantucket's place in history. Well-narrated story of whaling, great exhibits, and the documentary on Nantucket is long, but well made. Worth a visit, especially if you have children who like history.

We went on a rainy day. Interesting to see all the items on display, but the best part was listening to the locals talk about how things were. Great historical review!

This museum offers great educational, historic, and entertainment value. We highly recommend. The content on early, local and whaling history is exceptional. Do not miss the observation deck on the roof! The gift shop is fine - something for everyone. All in all - a must.

The Whaling Museum is well worth seeing. At first I thought that admission was a little pricey, but there is a lot in the museum and it is informative and well executed. I left with knowing a lot about whaling. The lower floor has examples of some of the equipment that was used to refine whale oil and explanatory materials... More

This museum has so much to offer. The layout and displays were designed well. Our guide was knowledgeable, and informative. There is a great deal of history not only tied to the whaling but to the island itself.
