This beach was mentioned in the novel "Nell" by Nancy Thayer which I read in the mid 1980's for the first time. So when I finally explored Nantucket in October 1988, we rented bicycles at Young's Bicycle Shop at the Steamship Wharf and went to...More

A lovely beach - off season it is not crowded and there is a gentle surf. Not too long but still works for a Morning walk!

this is a good sunbathing beach close to downtown. the locals will tell you it's crowded, but on Labor Day weekend we went past the lifeguard stand, turned to the right and walked about 100 feet and all of a sudden were buy ourselves. there...More

It was the second week in August. During previous trips to the Cape at this time I remember crawling over people trying to find a free spot on the beach to lay a towel. Not this beach- completely empty, very quiet, very peaceful. We laid...More

Barely waves - great for small children. Sand bars are out really far and can walk to it during the day. Water is so calm it feels like your at a lake. Playground at beach closer to parking a lot away from the beach.

We wanted a beach that had facilities and was convenient to town. Jetties Beach is a short Waze bus ride from town or probably about a mile walk from the town center. It is a narrow beach with pretty dunes, views and shallow, calm waters....More

Excellent family location for a day at the beach. Water is not deep and the sand bar allows for a nice shallow area for kids to play. The water is warm and there is even a restaurant on the beach where you can grab lunch...More

We went Kayaking, had lunch at a super restaurant and then spent time on the beach. Need to be prepared for all of the shells in the sand; one big toe with a cut, but the restaurant gave us a bandage for it.
