We were welcomed to come after office hours, advised of our site. Sites spacious, and separated by palmettos. We came across 3 Armadillos along the road the comfort stations are just that, very nice, clean and comfortable. They have large screened in porches which I trust is a very big plus during mosquito season. We left reluctantly the Friday of... More

We camped here 3 nights & the weather was cold and windy, so we didn't walk the trails. We did drive the entire park area & saw deer, wild pigs ( a family with 10 piglets), and an armadillo. We stayed close to the #2 comfort station, which was very clean and spacious. Free use of washers & dryers was... More

We came by recommendation of someone who had just been here. We stayed longer than we planned because it was just amazing. The sites are well spaced with lots of privacy. The park was immaculately clean. The facilities were top notch, well maintained and very clean. Sites are gravel with some paved spaces close to the bath facilities. Most are... More

My wife and I spent 3 nights in the campground. The spaces are very large, which can easily accommodate large RV's with towed vehicles. The campground is very quite, sites are shielded from each other with vegetation. The comfort stations have showers and laundry that are part of the camp site payment. Wildlife is spotted daily in the park. The... More

We met friends at Palmetto Island State Park and it is beautiful here. The RV sites are large and spaced for privacy. You are not looking into your neighbors windows. They have beautiful cabins available and a large meeting room. Canoes, hiking trails, a kids splash pad AND a great staff. Well worth the trip to get here.

The camping spots are nicely spaced. The cabins are very luxurious for cabins. Very modern bath facilities for campers. They have a nice boat dock, but it is far from the camp sites. The park people are very nice, too. On the second Saturday of every month the Black Pot people cook here and you are welcome to join them... More

We went not knowing what to expect. I had read reviews but we really were pleasantly surprised when we came thru the door! Nice kitchen, big screen porch. Bbq pit. Bring paper towels, toilet paper, lg. trash bags, soap - kitchen bath and hand. Cooking stuff. They have pots but limited selection. Oil & butter. And whatever food you want... More

Palmetto Island State Park is the easy way to experience the swamps and bayous of southern Louisiana. It may be a bit off the beaten path, but that, after all is the beauty of it. Time permitting, rent a canoe and follow the water trail in a circular path all the way to the Vermillion River. Hands inside the canoe... More

Although it did rain most of the time we were there we still had a great time. The park is really nice and the cabins are amazing. The kids love the canoe and the fishing didn't catch but a couple of fish sure it was because of the rain. The park was very neat and clean and the staff were... More
