You can pretty much only get here by taxi. If you take an Uber, be careful with the destination you enter, as there also a city district called Panama Viejo and while it's close, it's across the highway from the ruins. The museum is pretty...More

This is a pretty no-frills museum, with no gift shop or cafe, and just one floor of displays. But the admission price is pretty low, so you might as well stop in to take a break from the humidity and get a little background on...More

Panama Viejo was an amazing place to experience the history of the oldest settlement in Panama. The artifacts in the museum as well as the ruins that you can walk around & see are a testament of the cultural heritage of Panama.

This was our first stop on our tour of Panama City and it was a fleeting visit I normally like to take my time in museums but we were limited to 45 minutes which was just enough time. There is lots of information on charts...More

A little pricey for walking around on your own. The small museum was worth a fee. Interesting history and the art you can purchase in the artist area is amazing.

There is not much to see at the museum and information is not enough either. I suggest you go straight to the ruins for a walk-around.

While I understand some Spanish and there is some English Translation, we felt that it should have more translation to be able to understand what happened. It is situated about 1.5 km we were told from the entrance and they do run a train shuttle....More

If you're pressed for time, simply head straight for the Ruins mainly because this Museum is in a small space and there are limited artifacts plus everything is in Spanish. When first walking towards the entrance, there are several Statues depicting Panamanian Historical figures.

Just avoid this place. Nothing really interesting and the only artefacts on displays are the poor quality pictures with the Spanish introductions. If you not desperate just skip it and go for the ruins.

Ruins and the area are cool if you're interested in history. 12$ entrance is a bit much but with student price it was well worth the money. Also the bus route to Panama Viejo is nice because you can see some local life during the...More
