I did the canal and city tour with Gonzo one day before lockdown was back on and it was wonderful. The Miraflores visitor center was closed, so he got creative and took me on a drive through the area to get a few different vantage points of the locks and canal. The city tour covered a lot, I got to see the skyline from one of the best vantage points across the water, and the Casco Viejo portion was super interesting: he seemingly knows the history behind every building in the quarter, and his storytelling skills are superb. Gonzo was one of the best tour guides I've ever met, on time and professional, super friendly and entertaining, and he made sure that I saw the best of Panama City despite the rapidly changing availability of many sites.

Favorite part was monkey island and riding the canal. Unless you're buying artifacts, I wouldnt do Indian part. Tour guide was great though.

My husband and I had a blast with our guide Diego and all the activities on this tour. We met several monkeys up close, then enjoyed a unique presentation in a nearby Indigenous Village. The boat ride on Gatun Lake in part of the Panama Canal was a thrill. The day was full of energy and fun! I would definitely book another tour with Barefoot Panama.

Highly recommended! Gonzalo is an energetic, passionate Panamanian with near-perfect English and an incredible command of history and politics and culture of his country. We enjoyed our time with him as much as what he showed us. We got lucky and saw all 3 monkey species on the islands of Lake Gatún. Also had a wonderful experience visiting the Wounaan people at their village. They were so generous, and everyone work masks (as is the law across the country). Wonderful crafts and dances. Kevin was prompt to reply and gave us info and options during the booking process.

My visit was at the beginning of November 20020 soon after lockdown had ended and was fortunate to find Barefoot Panama. Most tourist attractions were still closed but the Monkey and Indian village operated as normal. Carlos was my tour guide and was personable, knowledgeable, and a great guide! Highly recommend Barefoot Panama as they will come through for you when other's can't to provide an amazing tour.
