About Tropical Kingfisher Tours
The epicenter of where our activities start is in the tropics, right above the equator (8.96o N 79.53o W) in the Republic of Panama. A strip of rainforest minutes away from downtown of the capital, Panama City sustains one of the modern engineering marvels of all time (The Panama Canal) and hosts one of the most biodiverse places on earth. This is where two experienced guides come together and combine the greatest potentials of the isthmus, the tropical rainforests, the two oceans and the Canal that binds them. Being a transit point to many, gives us the advantage to share the regions culture, history and ecology. Having two coasts is access to unlimited sources of fun and entertainment. Our tours are designed for all people and all ages that make Panama a worthwhile place for adventure and vacation. Tropical Kingfisher Tours is an initiative to make tourism sustainable and an opportunity for development. Our organization channels these potentials for real change and experience.

The best place to experience The Panama Canal is in the former U.S. Canal Zone town of Gamboa, where The Chagres River meets Gatun Lake in Soberania National Park. Here you will enjoy one of the most famous wildlife viewing and bird watching trails in the world, The Pipeline Road, where the world record for the most bird species seen in a 24 hour period was set 11 years in a row.

This tour consists of a trek through the tropical rainforest with a knowledgeable guide, and among capuchin and howler monkeys, toucans and sloths, you will learn about Panama's history and culture.

John was an excellent tour guide. He took my friend and I through Soberania park/pipeline road, and showed us plenty of wildlife that I was dying to see. Animals that we were fortunate to spot included: sloths, a coati, toucans, poison dart frogs, several species of caterpillars, howler monkeys, and plenty more. His knowledge about the wildlife and history of the park, canal, Gamboa, and panama in general was stellar. There was never a moment where he didn’t know how to answer a question. After the park he took us on a boat trip to monkey islands in the Panama Canal. Upon reaching the islands we were immediately greeted by white faced capuchins and tamarins. I would 150% take a tour with John again. He is kind, knowledgeable, humorous, and just an all round good guy to be around with. I know his touring skills will make him one of the best known tour guides in Panama City. Thank you John! Shaemus

John was a marvelous guide. Even more, he arranged our complete tour with over 100 participants. Everything perfectly on time and at the rigth moment. The particpants have seen the wonderful river forelands filled with wild animals. On tour the've also seen the biggest vessels on the Panama canal. And the most surprising part was the added value in price, but even more in knowledge and hospitality from the guide. When you have to choose in terms of budget? Don't go to Mariflores, but take this trip!!
