The Nation's Mother is a 335-foot titanium goddess that towers above Kiev's right bank of the Dnipro River. With a sword and shield in her hands, bearing the hammer and sickle, she can be seen from different parts of the capital. There are two elevators...More

We wandered around the nice parkland surrounding the statue, it was really awe-inspiring, one of those huge Eastern European statue. The rest of the sculptures in the park are also worth looking at, just a nice place to chill out and relax.

This 102 metres stern and breathtaking statue of the Motherland stands high and mighty, overlooking the wide Dnjepr river. It is incredibly impressive, in a part of Kiev that is impressive already. Take a lift to the top of the statue, but do not forget...More

Amazing monument to greed of comunism. Build statue of this proportion during famine requires some guts. Statue is really monumental and offers view deck (closed during winter) and also military museum in its base.

You can see the motherland statue from a long way off. It is only when you get close that the enormity of the structure becomes clear. Definitely worth a visit when in Kiev
