This is visible from many places in Kiev. I walked to the statue and probably enjoyed the walk there as much as the actual attraction. Certainly worth while on a nice day. Not sure it's worth the effort in bad weather.

Even that you don't like the history, this museum has something to show, you can stay all day and maybe will not be enough. You can see the old Soviet Union details but also the rooms representing the last years of Ukraine.

This is basically the Soviet version of the Statue of Liberty, except there are tanks in front of it. It's a fascinating juxtaposition and also a great monument on its own right.

It's nice place to spend week end with family (specially if you have kids). Big park and you can enjoy with the view of the city. If you take kids with you make sure he or she has scooter or bikes ( kids will enjoy)

... just a shame there is so little English information. But even without that it was a real eye-opener! It starts outside with displays of Ukrainian and Russian tanks, missiles and other larger war weapons - all the way down a lengthy walkway heading towards the Rodina Mat statue. The inside bit, housed under the massive statue is modern and... More

I have lived in Kie for 16 years and this is a place we take visitors. This is located near the Lavra so both can be toured the same day. There are many WWII artefacts housed here as well as WWII statistics. It is worth seeing, especially the old soviet statues outside of the museum.

Fascinating WWII-themed museum expositions and a great chance to see the entirety of the city from the height of 91m for just 200 UAH (as of March 2017). A cheaper and less acrophobic option would be to enjoy the view from the 36.6m observation deck; a brief curious story dedicated to the monument's history from your guide is included as... More

We didn't take an opportunity to see the city from this memorial, which is pity. It's higher than New York statue of liberty, so definitelywirth your visit.
