Fantastic caved attraction full of mummified bodies of ancient monks religious relics and icons in the caves. Also plenty to see above ground including the ruins of the Dormition Cathedral, the Holy Trinity Church, the Great Bell Tower, St. Nicholas Church, Conception of St Anne Church and the All Saints’ Church, all accompanied by a micro museum as well as... It's an active monastery and a historical site. Museums open at 9 am, but go early in the morning to the monastery gate, they are open around 6am. Before it’s gets hot and busy, you can really see it - walk around the monastery and see the bishop’s cemetery ( behind the small church) and caves ; and rose garden.... More

if you would to feel the mentality of the people living the Christian prayer welcome there. this place has the ancient fascinating history and many amazing stories. i often go to Kiev and every time visit there. Lavra has very nice location, on the hill with beautiful views of city, river Dnepr, near nice park and expensive hotel.

A great place to emerge yourself in the history of Kievan Rus and see the icons in Orthodox Christian churches, Museums, etc. The panoramic view of the Right bank of Kiev is breathtaking too!

When something is a UNESCO world heritage site then you simply just have to go and see it for yourself. If you are visiting the war museum walk up to this through the grounds and look in awe at the onion domes as you approach. We were here in February so the snow added to the romance. Spend 30 minutes or 2 hours it's a lovely site.
